1. AGREEMENT OVERVIEW
This Household Goods Moving Agreement (the "Agreement") governs all moving and packing services provided by Start Moving LLC ("Company," "we," "us," or "our"). By booking services, paying a deposit, or signing/accepting the written estimate/quote electronically, the customer ("Customer," "you") agrees to be bound by this Agreement.
This Agreement, together with the written estimate/quote and inventory list, constitutes the entire agreement between the parties.
Sections specific to moves within Connecticut are noted as "Intrastate (Connecticut only)." Moves outside Connecticut are noted as "Interstate / Out-of-State."
2. GOVERNING LAW & REGULATORY COMPLIANCE
Intrastate moves: governed by Connecticut law.
Interstate moves: governed by federal and state laws applicable to long-distance household goods movers.
3. ESTIMATES & PRICING
Estimates
All estimates are based on information available at the time of quoting and may be provided as:
Flat-Price (Binding) Moving Quotes – Standard for all interstate moves and intrastate moves.
Hourly Moving Quotes – Available only for local Connecticut moves and short-distance moves to nearby states (Massachusetts, New York, New Jersey) if the distance and size of the move allow. The Company reserves the right to determine whether a move qualifies for a flat-price or hourly quote, based on distance, inventory, access, and other factors, at our sole discretion.
Estimates are prepared using:
Customer-provided inventory lists
Virtual or video walkthroughs
In-person walkthrough appointments at the pickup location
Note: An inventory list may not always be created when an in-person walkthrough is performed. In such cases, the estimate is based on visual inspection, customer representations, and observed site conditions.
Material changes to inventory, access, mileage, site conditions, or services may result in an adjusted price, and customer agrees to pay any such additional charges.
Packing Services
Packing services are always billed hourly, regardless of whether the move is quoted as flat price or hourly. Packing labor and materials are not included in flat-price moving quotes unless explicitly stated.
This includes packing boxes and wall art, not wrapping furniture.
Blanket Use Policy
If blankets are kept beyond the move, Customer is initially charged for all blankets.
If blankets are returned to the office or unwrapped at the destination at a later time. Cost is credited minus $1.50 per blanket per started month.
If blankets are used only during the move, no charge applies.
Lost blankets will be charged at the full replacement cost per blanket, in addition to any monthly charges if applicable.
